LOUIS DOMBROVA

English Walnut Table and Buckeye Burl Base

This coffee table is constructed from English walnut (top and pedestal) and a buckeye base. It is finished with 3 coats of epoxy.  The pedestal is attached with three 4 inch screw up through the bottom of the buckeye base. The holes were predrilled and countersunk (one inch bit) to allow the use of one inch washers to help distribute the pressure against the soft buckeye. All holes were completely soaked with epoxy to provide additional strength. The top was attached to the pedestal using two inch long oak dowels and three, three 3 inch long screws going at an angle through the pedestal into the bottom of the top piece. Thanks for all your help with my first project.

Can't wait to get the new piece of buckeye for the end table.

Louis

The Guitar Says...

I speak, I weep, I grow delirious.
I know about laughter and tears.
With red mouth I sing.
With dark eyes I watch.
With lovers I breath
And I laugh with the merrymakers.
My notes are large drops of fresh water on the rose bush,
And I have all the salt of Spain in my tears.
